Substance Church - Sign-Up to Serve

One way we can glorify God is by serving others. Service should be compelled by our love
for Christ, and part of our lifestyle—not about guilt or obligation. Please use this form to get more information about serving within our church body!

Once you fill out this form, the team leader(se) will contact you to give you more details about that area of serving and answer any questions you have!

The team leader will contact you with more information and to answer your questions!

Areas of Serving

Facilities Team
(Set-up/Tear-down Team, Cleaning Team or Maintenance Team)
The Facilities Team is dedicated to the upkeep and improvement of our ministry
locations. Serving on this team might mean helping with a building project, cleaning the
church during the week, helping people find seats before a service, or straightening up the
café after brunch. So if you like to build, clean and make things happen behind the scenes,
contact us to get involved!

Community Team
(Greeting Team)
The Community Team creates environments to make people feel welcome from the
moment they walk in the door. We want to pursue people in the same way Christ pursues
us; serving one another in love and humility. Practically speaking, that means we greet
people with a smile, and try to make personal connections to build relationships!

Hospitality Team
(Cafe and Pour-Over Teams)
The Hospitality Team welcomes people through physical needs- like food! They work a little more behind the scenes to make sure there is food and coffee for Sunday mornings or special events. Feeding people is one very practical way to love the people who walk through the door. Even more so, it creates a space where people can get to know each other better over a cup of coffee or doughnut!

Substance Kids
(Volunteers for ages 0-3, PreK/Kindergarten or 1st-4th Grade)
Substance Kids exists to proclaim the Gospel to kids so their hearts and minds can be
transformed, renewed and shaped by Christ. We view what we do as evangelism, not
childcare. We use the Gospel Project curriculum, so all the materials you’ll need are
provided in advance. You do not have to be a parent or teacher to serve, and we will
always team you up with another adult. All of our Substance Kids volunteers are background
checked and given training resources before serving.

Music and Sound
(Instrumentalists, Vocalists or Sound Team)
The Music & Sound Team leads our community in praising God through song, and helps
people understand why he deserves our worship. Serving on this team might be a good fit
for you if you already play an instrument or sing, or if you have experience or a desire to learn
how to run a soundboard. Playing and singing from stage requires a (low-pressure) audition.
